My Glossier Guide: What I Love, What I Can Live Without, and What I Haven't Tried Yet
If you've been reading my blog for a while, you are probably already aware of my obsession with a little brand called Glossier. So what is the deal with it exactly? True, it enhances the average Instagram post by at least 50%, but is it worth the hype? Glossier's motto is "Skin first, makeup second" and that's exactly why I love it. If you read my post on how my skincare routine has changed in the last year, you'll know that Glossier made me want to care about my skin and make sure that I was treating it well.
So for all of the products I've tried and tested, I wanted to compile my thoughts on them all in one place. As you can probably guess their skincare products are my favorite, with a few standout makeup products mixed in. This post will be separated into skincare and then makeup. SKincare
Milky Jelly Cleanser, $18
This cleanser has the dreamiest texture and feels amazing. It always leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean.
Priming Moisturizer, $25
The perfect daily moisturizer. Goes on smooth and works as a base for makeup or an extra coat of moisture before bed.
Balm Dotcom, $12 each or 3 for $30 (flavor: Birthday)
Glossier's take on Aquaphor with the occasional flavor burst.
Super Glow and Super Pure, $28 each or 3 for $65
The serums that help reduce redness, eliminate acne, and turn your face into a glowy dream.
Invisible Shield, $34
A face sunscreen that doesn't feel goopy but gets the job done.
Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, $28 or 2 for $40
A clay facial mask that you leave on for 20 minutes to detoxify your skin.
A thicker formula compared to the regular Priming Moisturizer, great for cold weather or before bed.
Solution, $24
Glossier's first true acne-fighting product. This liquid exfoliator promises better skin in four weeks targeting rednesses, acne, and other spots. Read my full post on it here.

A tinted powder to make skin less shiny.
Cloud Paint, $18 each (in Beam, Dusk, Puff and Haze)
Cream blushes in a variety of colors.
Boy Brow, $16 (in Brown)
A tinted (or not!) brow gel that enhances your brow's natural shape.
Haloscope, $22 (in Quartz)
A cream highlighting stick that can be used in a ton of ways.
Generation G, $18 (in Cake)
A cream lipstick.
Perfecting Skin Tint, $26 (in Medium)
A very light layer of makeup to apply in lieu of foundation.
Stretch Concealer, $18 (in Medium)
A thick creamy product to conceal dark spots, under-eye circles and acne.
BODY
Daily Oil Wash, $18
Put this in your shower and treat your skin to a rich oil scrub.
This luscious body cream will smooth, hydrate and give your skin the healthy glow it deserves.
Lash Slick, $16
The mascara that will have people complimenting your lashes, not realizing you’re wearing mascara.
Brow Flick, $18
For the girl who needs a little more definition, this brow pen is here to shape your brows in a super seamless way. Top it off with a coat of Boy Brow.
Soothing Face Mist, $15
Reformulated to be a fine mist, this rosewater spray is here to refresh your makeup throughout the day and to prep your skin in the morning.
Milky Oil, $12
Made to melt the makeup right off of your face, Milky Oil is here to get your skin super clean before you go in with your nighttime cleanser.
Bubblewrap, $26
Glossier’s first eye and lip cream does double duty for sensitive skin, providing instant hydration when you apply.
Glossier Play
Colorslide, $15
These bright eye pencils will immediately turn up the volume on your look. Available in 14 high octane shades, you can go from 0 to 60 in one swipe.
Glitter Gelée, $14
Add a bit of sparkle to your makeup look with this glitter eye shadow topper, available in four eye-catching shades.
Niteshine, $20
To add an extra high intensity shimmer to your nighttime look, reach for Nightshine. This highlighter concentrate will dial up the shine on your cheekbones.
Vinylic Lip, $16
This product will give you that lacquered lip look that with a glossy finish. Wear a few coats of mascara and this alone and you’ve got a look ready for a night out.
My Top Five:

If you removed any of these products from my makeup bag, I think I would just go into shock. I almost put the Perfecting Skin Tint on here, but I do alternate between that and my Stila Tinted Moisturizer, which has slightly heavier coverage (although the Skin Tint has been my go-to for summer.) As you can see three of my top five fall into the skincare category so I can't help but applaud Glossier for all of the incredible skincare products they've created.
What I have tried but don't own:
Balm Dotcom in coconut
Lidstar in moon, slip, cub, herb and lily
I haven't bought either of these yet. While I did like the face mist when I tried it at the showroom, I have a few others that I think I like better right now so I don't feel like I have to buy this one. And I tried Charlotte's coconut Balm Dotcom and while I think that coconut is among my favorite flavors that they offer, I still find myself reaching for Aquaphor more.
What I Haven't Tried Yet:
Balm Dotcom in original, cherry, mint, mango, and rose
Lip Gloss in Clear, Holographic, and Red
Yes, shocking, there are Glossier products that I have not yet gotten my hands on. As I already mentioned, I'm an Aquaphor girl at heart. I think if I were to buy any Balm Dotcom it would probably be the original. I'm obsessed with the Mega Greens Galaxy Face Mask and don't feel the need to try the Moon Mask. As far as lip gloss goes I rarely, rarely wear it and even though I've heard it's not as sticky as other glosses, I don't picture myself ever having a use for it.
What I can live without:
Now hey, just because I can live without all of these doesn't necessarily mean I want to! But these are the products I definitely reach for the least. Wowder definitely works the way it's meant to, I just happen to be in a dewy skin mindset at the moment. I still haven't found my groove with Cloud Paint (and yes, I've tried all four colors) and think that they're a bit more pigmented than I'd like. If anything, I reach for Puff and Dusk more than Beam and Haze. And as far as Generation G, I like the color Cake that I chose, but the texture isn't my favorite to have on my lips for long periods of time. I also bought the shade Zip after the reformulation and it still is awkwardly in between a stain and a matte lip product for me. Glossier You was also a big miss for me. As for the Glitter Gelée from Glossier Play, I just couldn’t get the stuff to stay evenly distributed on my face! I threw out the detailer a moment after getting it as well and think applying this product with your fingers is the way to go.
