7 Things To Do In NYC This Summer

I love summers in New York. The city has such a different vibe to it than the rest of the year because it's the time of year where a ton of people leave for the summer, and another group moves here just for a few months. It shakes things up, to say the least. Today I'm sharing some great things to do in the summer in New York, most of which I've done myself and will be revisiting soon and some of which I can't wait to try! There's a first time for everything and no better time to try something different than during the sweltering summer months.

1. Visit Roosevelt Island

If you're wondering where these photos were taken, here's your answer! I'd never been to Roosevelt Island before yesterday and mostly explored the south side of the island on this trip. It's so quirky and different from other parts of the city.

2. Smorgasburg

I don't think I'll ever not want to go to Smorgasburg. It helps that I live right by it! This is the best place to try all of the latest weird and cool foods like ramen burgers, crazy fries, ice cream sandwiches and more. It's up every Saturday of the summer so you have tons of chances to go!

3. CitiBike along the East River

Or the Hudson, or the Williamsburg waterfront or wherever you want! The best part about Citibike is that if you don't want to bike back to where you were you can dock it at one of their stations.

4. Picnic in Central Park

This is a no-brainer. A quick trip to Trader Joe's to pick up some cheese and crackers, sandwich essentials, and maybe a bottle of wine makes for a perfect little picnic. Invite 20 friends or your SO.

5. Attend a Free Concert

Good Morning America hosts a concert series all summer long where you can watch your favorite bands perform in Central Park. The catch is that doors open at 6am, but hey it's an excuse to start your day earlier.

6. Have a drink on a rooftop

Whether you're a Skylark girl or if you're feeling more Loopy Doopey there are so many great places to grab a drink with a view.

7. Go to Bryant Park's Movie Nights

Bryant Park screens movies on Monday Nights and they've got a great lineup this year.
