My Holy Grail Winter Lip Products

Is there any worse feeling in the whole wide world than dry lips in the winter months? Let me answer my rhetorical question with a wholehearted “NOPE.” For those of you who are long-time readers, you’ll know that I have dry skin and that also applies to my lips. I am that girl who is always reaching in her bag to re-apply some kind of lip balm, pretty much year-round but especially in the super freezing NYC winters. I feel like chapstick/lip balm is truly one of those Desert Island items where if I could only bring three things with me that would be an essential that I likely would not survive without. You didn’t ask but the other things I’d bring with me are my phone and a battery pack that could re-charge said phone for up to a year.

Anyway, before I got lost on the whole Desert Island thing, I was saying something about how my lips get super dry especially this time of year and I’m sure that yours do too. So, here are three products that have been total saviors to me this winter. Whether you throw them in your purse for on the go or line all three of them up in a row on your nightstand so you can easily reach for them while you are lounging at home, I know these will make the lip situation at least 90% more bearable.

1. Fresh Beauty Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

This product has been around 5ever, but it’s a recent discovery for me as someone who is overly cautious about what kind of products I put on my lips. This one does the trick and the packaging makes me feel like I’m applying something more luxe than just a normal lip balm.

2. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

When I first heard about this product I was like “whaaaat even is a lip mask.” Basically its just a super soothing treatment that you can apply right before you go to bed. It feels like you’ve got three coats of your normal lip balm on and it’s glorious. Thank you Laneige for bringing this lip mask into the world.

3. Vaseline Petroleum Jelly Original

And while I love brands like Fresh and Laneige, there is nothing that does the trick like good old Vaseline or Aquaphor. You can buy mini versions of this and keep it with you in your purse or you can buy legit TUBS of the stuff and keep it at home for all of your irritated skin needs.
