The Spring Fashion Staples I Can't Live Without
Yesterday on my Instagram stories I asked what post you wanted to see on the blog today and the majority wanted to hear about my spring wardrobe staples. I wanted to keep this list short and sweet because of course I could go on and on about wardrobe staples (and I do in my summer capsule wardrobe video on my YouTube channel in case you’d actually like to see me go on and on) and because I really do believe that once you have a few solid pieces in your closet it makes getting dressed 100x easier in the morning, and that’s all I ever want.
I didn’t even realize this but last Friday I put on an outfit that actually encompassed four of my core wardrobe staples for the spring and summer seasons all in one outfit. You can of course mix and match these items with others in your closet, but I liked that they also made a complete outfit on their own and it made this blog post even easier to write since I could show you all of them in one place. Plus, even though spring isn’t my favorite season for fashion, it still feels nice to leave the house with bare legs and a light jacket.
A denim jacket can do no wrong in transitional weather. Have one on hand to wear when you leave the house in the morning and it’s chilly outside and keep it by your side when the bar where you’re grabbing after work drinks has the AC on full blast.
Mini dresses are one of the best parts about warmer weather, in my humble opinion, because you can leave the house in one and be done. Instant outfit! If you want to get a little *~fancier~* you can layer one over your favorite vintage tee or swap the sneakers for a more elevated sandal.
I love a good pair of white sneakers because you can throw them on with quite literally anything and they’ll never go out of style. But they will fade from their original bright white, so take good care of them.
I know pastels are kind of a spring cliche, but there’s always at least one pastel color that I can buy into for spring. This season as I mentioned in my spring 2019 trend report, its pistachio green, which I am here for.
