brooklyn bound

Freshly brewed lattes, treasured local record shops, the Manhattan skyline. Sound like a hipster's paradise? You know it. This weekend two of my favorite people visited New York and we took a trip to a beloved outer borough where Amish-style hats are on the list of immediately accepted trends along with dreadlocks, fedoras and flannels. Williamsburg was so fun to explore and we couldn't have picked a more gorgeous winter day to do so. Every street corner has its own personality, wrapped in graffiti and bumper stickers. It was fun to escape the fast pace of Manhattan, which although intrinsic to its character can be overwhelming at times, and be somewhere else (or someone else) for a few hours. The waterfront was windy but standing out on the docks looking at the city with one of my favorite people in the world suddenly made the world seem still. Check out my guide to East Williamsburg here.
