To be blunt with you lovely readers, I'm not easily enchanted by all of this 'New Years' business. I don't really get it, and as predicted, I was off in dreamland about half an hour before the ball dropped. So in lieu of New Years resolutions that are often destined to fail before they're attempted, I decided to remind myself of some of the things I love and do my best to surround myself with them in the coming months: cozy sweaters, seashells in handfuls, smiling, little bookshops, hot chocolate, conversing with world travelers (Welcome home Céline!!!), coastlines, the horizon and writing in the sand. The last one is my favorite; if you make a mistake, it gets washed away by the sea and you can try again the next time. The world really is an incredibly mysterious place.
